A Beitbridge woman, Ropafadzo Muleya, was granted a peace order against her husband, Adrian Matunga for harassing her and chasing her away from their house.

Muleya appeared before Magistrate Brenda Kachepa on Friday this week seeking for protection order against her husband Matunga.

Muleya told the court that Matunga chased her away from their matrimonial home, threw away her clothes and repeatedly ordered her to vacate the house despite the couple having built it together.

“He packs my clothes and throws them away. He tells me to leave the house yet we built it together,” Muleya told the court.

In response, Matunga said he did not object to the application and only wanted his wife to respect him as the head of the family.

“I want my wife to respect me as a man. I do not object to what she said,” he told the court.

Following submissions from both parties, Kachepa ruled in favour of Muleya and barred Matunga from physically or emotionally harassing her or chasing her away from their house 12904 at New Alpha, Beitbridge.

The court also ordered that Muleya be granted full access to the house.

Order to run for a period of five years.
