The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has appointed four national icons Peter Ndlovu, Bruce Grobbelaar, Benjani Mwaruwari, and Nomsa “Boys” Moyo as official football ambassadors.

The appointments were endorsed during a ZIFA Executive Committee meeting held on 2 November 2025, with the association officially announcing the development on November 5 2025.

In a statement on Thursday , ZIFA said the decision recognises the quartet’s outstanding contribution to Zimbabwean football and their role in promoting the country’s image through the sport.

ZIFA said the ambassadors will represent Zimbabwean football on the global stage by inspiring the next generation of players, promoting football development, and showcasing the nation’s football story internationally.

ZIFA President Nobert Mugwizi said the appointments reflect the association’s appreciation for individuals who have raised Zimbabwe’s football profile through dedication and talent.

“Peter, Bruce, Benjani, and Nomsa are symbols of what is possible when talent meets dedication and national pride. We are truly honoured to have them represent our football family,” said Mugwizi.

The move marks a significant step by ZIFA to strengthen its international presence and reconnect with past football legends who have played influential roles both locally and abroad.

The four ambassadors are expected to serve as advocates for football growth, youth mentorship and global engagement on behalf of Zimbabwean football.

The announcement was issued by the ZIFA Media and Communications Department.
