Legendary Zimdancehall artist Winky D has been nominated for the Best African Dancehall Entertainer category at Jamaica’s International Reggae and World Music Award (IRAWMA)42nd anniversary.
Winky D born Wallace Chirumiko is known for his hit songs like Disappear and Twenty Five and has been one of the most consistent artist on the local scene with a career spanning over 20 years now. He is affectionately called Gaffa or Big Man by his legion of fans.
The International Reggae and World Music Award ceremony will be held on Sunday 30 March 2025 in Coral Springs.
IRAWMA was Founded by Dr. Ephraim Martin and is a prestigious annual event celebrating the best in reggae and world music.
IRAWMA brings nations together through music and culture, aiming to honor and promote musical excellence and cultural diversity.
Other nominees for Best African Dancehall Entertainer include Nkule from South Africa, Redsan, (Kenya) Shatta Wale (Ghana) ,Sheebah (Uganda).
