Zimbabwe’s representatives in Telkom Netball League Division one in South Africa, the Zambezi Eagles secured an impressive 61-57 victory against Southern Stings at the ongoing tourney to secure a much needed win for the developmental side.
Following their disappointing l 56-49 defeat to Gauteng Jaguars, the Zambezi Eagles bounced back to their winning ways as they delivered a thrilling victory against the Southern Stings.
Nichole Muzanenhamo displayed a wonderful performance helping the Zambezi Eagles secure an impressive victory, which saw her bring rewarded with the Telkom player of the match award.
After the team’s victory, the Zimbabwe Netball Association congratulated the Zambezi Eagles for their dedication and fighting spirit.
“What a comeback by the Zambezi Eagles!Against all odds, our girls rose to the occasion, captured the crowd, and delivered a thrilling 61, 57 victory over Southern Stings,” the Zimbabwe Netball Association stated.
The Zambezi Eagles ‘ participation in this tournament will help the Zimbabwe’s senior national team,the Gems, broaden their selection and strengthen the team ahead of the Netball World Cup qualifiers later this year.
