THE Beitbridge Business Expo has been Urged to join the National Association of Agricultural Show Societies of Zimbabwe.
The invitation was extended by President of the Matabeleland South Agricultural Show Society, Ms Sharon Dewa, during the closing ceremony of the sixth edition of the expo on Saturday.
Dewa said, Beitbridge Business Expo has grown significantly since its launch six years ago and has become a model for other districts in Matabeleland South.
“We are truly impressed by the growth of the Beitbridge Business Expo since its introduction six years ago. I urge other districts in the province to emulate Beitbridge in terms of growth, accountability and transparency,”she said.

She said the Matabeleland South Agricultural Show Society, which is affiliated with the National Association of Agricultural Show Societies of Zimbabwe, welcomes expos such as the Beitbridge Business Expo into its membership.
“You may consider joining the National Association of Agricultural Show Societies of Zimbabwe and become part of the national show and expo movement,”she said.
This year’s expo attracted more than 120 exhibitors, including 20 first-time exhibitors, demonstrating the event’s growing appeal.
She said the expo is helping position Beitbridge as an emerging commercial and industrial hub while creating new business opportunities.
“The Beitbridge Business Expo supports the Government’s ‘Zimbabwe is Open for Business’ policy. Beitbridge is truly open for business 24/7, and events like this help attract investment into the district,” she said.
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland South, Albert Nguluvhe, said the expo reflects the Government’s development philosophy.
“Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo. The people of Beitbridge are driving their own development through this expo. I encourage the community to continue supporting this initiative,” he said.
Representing the Mayor of Beitbridge, Councillor Takavingei Mahachi urged businesses to build on the partnerships created during the three-day event.
“Let us carry the spirit of innovation and collaboration beyond this expo as we work together to transform Beitbridge into a vibrant commercial hub,” he said.
Held under the theme “Beitbridge 24/7,” the sixth edition of the Beitbridge Business Expo ended on Saturday after bringing together businesses, government institutions and organisations from across Zimbabwe to promote trade, investment and economic development.
