Beitbridge — The 2025 Beitbridge Expo, held under the theme “Beitbridge 24/7,” has proved the border town as a vibrant hub for business, innovation, and growth.
The expo served as a dynamic platform for the business community to exhibit, connect, forge new partnerships, share ideas, and explore emerging technologies to unlock Beitbridge’s full potential.
Representatives from across the country, including businesses from Bulawayo, Bindura, Harare, and Mwenezi, converged in the border town to showcase their offerings and explore collaboration opportunities.
The expo welcomed 27 new exhibitors, highlighting the town’s growing entrepreneurial spirit.
Among the exciting activities were tug-of-war contests, cookout competitions, quiz games, and displays of the best exhibition stands. The event also recognized top performers, with the Department of Veterinary Services securing third place, Agritex taking second, and Summit Lodge being crowned the overall best exhibitor of 2025.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of State as the guest of honor, Richmond Ncube, Director for Economic Affairs in Matabeleland South, commended the organizers for their efforts in bringing such a significant event to Beitbridge.
“This expo marks a turning point for Beitbridge,” Ncube stated.
“It is no longer just a transit point, it is emerging as a powerhouse of economic activity and innovation.”
He further emphasized the importance of the theme, “Beitbridge 24/7,” urging exhibitors and stakeholders to turn it into a lived reality.
“This theme demands action. It calls on us to cultivate opportunities, create platforms where businesses can thrive, and ensure that no one is left behind. Let’s work together to achieve our national goal of becoming an upper middle-income economy by 2030,” he said.
In his address, Beitbridge Town Mayor Councillor Peter Pirato echoed the call for collaboration and growth.
“This expo is a golden opportunity for our business community to build meaningful connections,” he urged.
“By working together, we can accelerate development and realize our Vision 2030. Let’s seize this moment to propel Beitbridge into a new era of prosperity.”
As the town continues to embrace its role as more than just a transit point, the 2025 Beitbridge Expo strengthens the foundation for a future where innovation, cooperation, and strategic growth become the norm, making the theme a lived reality for generations to come, positioning the border town as a key contributer to economy Zimbabwe.
