THE Municipality of Beitbridge has cleared bushes west of Beitbridge Mission Primary School to enhance safety for residents within the area.

The initiative aims to create a safe passage also addressing concerns about security and accessibility in the area.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network ,Town Clerk Loud Ramakgapola said safety and concern of residents is one of their highest priorities when clearing the route path.

“The clearing of the route which connects Dulivhadzimu and Tshitaudze suburbs are meant to ensure safety on residents walking on foot to and from Chitaudze suburbs.”

This move is part of the municipality’s efforts to improve infrastructure and services, aligning with its vision to transform Beitbridge into a modern urban settlement.

Some of the local residents said mugging was regular at the area while others are concerned about snakes and othsr harmful creatures that maybe camouflaged by the bushes.

“At times we have heard screams from robbery victims on the route which has become a daily routine due to overgrown bushes which thugs use as hideouts,” said Alfred Mudau.
