Belarus and Zimbabwe have officially signed an agreement concerning the production, assembly, and sale of buses. The deal was finalized during the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Zimbabwe this week according to the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agreement was inked during a meeting of the Belarus-Zimbabwe standing commission on cooperation, which also included a contract for the supply of MAZ bus kits to the African nation.
Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maksim Ryzhenkov, highlighted the considerable potential for bilateral cooperation between the two countries, attributing much of the progress to the strong support from both heads of state.
During the visit, Ryzhenkov inspected Belarusian agricultural machinery, which had been delivered to Zimbabwe as part of the ongoing third stage of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Mechanization Program.
The delivery included 189 tractors and seven combines, with an additional shipment of 30 combines and 30 grain trucks expected to arrive by the end of April 2025.
In discussions with Obert Jiri, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of Zimbabwe, Ryzhenkov addressed the diversification of supplies and planned exchange visits between the agriculture ministries of both countries.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the agreements reached during this visit will lay the groundwork for new bilateral projects and further enhance the partnership between Belarus and Zimbabwe.
