The Northern Region Soccer League disciplinary committee has awarded the abandoned match between Karoi United and Scottland FC to the latter on a 3-0 score line.

In a statement, the NRSL confirmed the judgment for the Karoi-Scottland abandoned match in line with the rules and regulations of the league.

“The abandoned match is hereby awarded to Scottland Fc on a 3-0 score line ,Karoi United is further fined a sum of amount of $2,000.00 of which USD$500.00 has been suspended on conditions that Karoi United will not commit a similar offense in the coming soccer season “the  NRSL statement reads.

The league further states that the suspended amount will be added will be added to any determination were Karoi is found guilty for bringing the game of football into disrepute. Meanwhile the decision is designed to ensure that future incidents of a similar nature will not occur, and in the process protects the game of football.

Following this ruling by the disciplinary committee Scotland’s dreams to play in Zimbabwe‘s top flight league seems to be ballooning. The Scott Sakupwanya owned side has shot to the top of the league with 84 points, 2 points ahead of second placed MWOS FC.

As the NRSL heads towards the tipping, the title is firmly in the hands of Scottland FC with MWOS hoping and praying for a blip from the Mabvuku based outfit which according to the form book is unlikely.
