TWELVE Beitbridge business people from various trade lines pooled their resources to buy a grader blade worth $687 for the Beitbridge Municipality.

Beitbridge Town Clerk Loud Ramakgapola said he heard some stakeholders had bought the blade but his organisation had also bought another.

“Yes I heard stakeholders bought blades for the grader.
As Council we had also ordered blades but the process was slow,” he said.

He did not comment on why his council had not bought the blades for the grader which arrived there months ago and when the grader will be deployed for work.

Ziyah News Network has it on good authority the blade bought by stakeholders has since been delivered to the Municipality of Beitbridge (MoB).

The publication is in holder of a copy of the purchase invoice.

The business people are Albert Nguluvhe, Lanaheil Clearing, Vhembe Bricks, Samas Investments, Croco Foods, Terry Investments, Summit Guest House, Onesimus Asani, Pirato Mafuta, Tsepang Nyathi, Loadwell Ziyadumah, and Oakleigh House Trust School.

In an interview the point man for the group Nqobile Ncube said they hoped their gesture would see the municipality work on the roads to make Beitbridge roads navigable.

“We hope the roads can be improved and Beitbridge residents are serviced in that area. It is true the roads in Beitbridge are not in good shape. The businesses contributed for the purpose being in this community,” said Ncube.

The purchase puts to rest the case whether the grader is new or used.

No new grader would be supplied with a worn blade suggesting MoB may have been duped.

“Its now water under the bridge, they should just move on and deploy the machine and rescue motorists who drive on roads made by donkey carts. This is what we have said a resident.
