Traditional leaders in Beitbridge West received food hampers from Cross Borders for Economic Development (CB4ED) during a thanksgiving meeting held on Sunday at Chief Tshitaudze’s homestead in Malala Village.

The event, organised by the Matabeleland South Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe, brought together chiefs, headmen, and village heads under Chief Tshitaudze.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Matabeleland South Chairperson for CB4ED, Blessing Mureyani, said the donation was meant to support traditional leaders and appreciate their role in driving development at grassroots level.

Mureyani said traditional leaders play a critical role in achieving Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, which seeks to transform the country into an upper middle-income economy.

He said they are key partners in bridging the gap between national development policies and implementation within communities.

He also pledged continued support for traditional leaders, emphasizing CB4ED’s commitment to improving livelihoods and empowering rural communities.

CB4ED is a Zimbabwean membership-based organisation formed in 2022 to represent and support cross-border traders by addressing trade barriers and improving working conditions.

The organisation is affiliated with ZANU PF and facilitates access to financial support through the Presidential Empowerment Revolving Fund.

Sometime last Year, CB4ED also contributed to local development initiatives in Beitbridge, including the donation of a borehole at Beitbridge District Hospital.
