Chibi High School has once again asserted its dominance after scooping the Ziyah Media Soccer Tournament Championship for the third consecutive time, maintaining their unbeaten record since the tournament’s inception in 2023.

On Sunday November , 23 2025 The school walked away with the boys’ championship title, while Malungudzi High School, making their debut appearance, clinched the girls’ championship.

Both champion schools received R10,000, a full soccer kit, match balls and medals.

In the girls’ division, Siyoka High School finished as runners-up, earning R5,000, a trophy, silver medals and three balls.

The boys’ runners-up, Tongwe High School, took home R7,000, three balls, a Trophy and silver medals.

Zezani High School secured bronze in the boys’ category, with the entire team receiving a trophy, medals and a cash prize.

Speaking during the celebration ceremony, the Minister of State for Matabeleland South and Devolution, Albert Nguluvhe applauded all participants and congratulated the winners.

He urged young people to stay away from drugs, noting that such sports initiatives keep learners focused and productive.

He further commended Ziyah Media for championing youth development through sport.

“This tournament helps children stay away from drug abuse while discovering their talents,” he said.

Soccer legend and former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu encouraged budding players to take football seriously.

“Once upon a time, I was in your position. Today, I’m living my life through football. It can become a source of livelihood, and it all begins at grassroots level,” he said.

Ziyah Media founding director Loadwell Ziyadumah expressed gratitude for the successful event.


“I’m humbled to bring you all together. It is my utmost pleasure to host a big name like Peter Ndlovu, who dazzled the Premier League. Our effort is to show children that soccer is no longer just fun, but business,” he said.

“We deliberately selected rural schools because that’s where talent is often undiscovered. Scouts have identified promising players, and no one has been left behind.”

Individual Awards

  • Golden Boot (Girls): Azvindini Mbedzi — R1,000 and Player of the Match
  • Golden Glove (Girls): Thakalo Mbedzi — R1000 and a trophy
  • Golden Boot (Boys): Tanaka Tizai — R1,000 and trophy
  • Golden Glove (Boys): Selector Mutenda — R1,000 and a trophy
  • Player of the Tournament (Boys): Tinodaishe Shumba — R1,000 and a trophy

Coaches from the winning schools, Chibi High and Malungudzi High, were honoured with the Coach of the Tournament Award, each receiving R1,500 rands each.

The one-day tournament showcased outstanding talent and continues to grow as a key platform for promoting grassroots football in the region.
