Vhembe Stars’ Assistant Coach and Goalkeepers Coach, Gilbert Chigwandaza, has credited team spirit, focus, and fan support for his side’s 2-0 victory over Unicem in a Matabeleland South Division 2 League clash at Dulibadzimu Stadium.
Following last week’s narrow 1-0 loss to West Nicholson, Chigwandaza said the team came into today’s match more focused and determined to bounce back and it showed on the pitch.
“Every player played a crucial role in today’s victory,” he said.
“The energy on the field was electric, and the team spirit was amazing. Last week’s loss sharpened our focus. The boys now believe in themselves, and that was clear in how they played today.”
He said the importance of mental strength and unity among the players, adding that the coaching staff is pleased with the positive attitude displayed during the match.
Chigwandaza also thanked the home crowd for their passionate support, calling them a key part of the victory.
“We credit this win to our fans. Their presence and energy created a positive atmosphere that helped push the team forward,” he said.
With this morale-boosting win, Vhembe Stars will be looking to build momentum as the league season continues.
