DJ Ribhe, a producer for Chillspot Records whose real name is Tafadzwa Mandaza, has been further remanded in custody as he faces serious allegations of raping a 14-year-old schoolgirl. His next court appearance is set for December 3.
During a virtual court session, regional magistrate Tilder Mazhande ordered that DJ Ribhe remain in detention while investigations unfold.
He has been in custody since early November and will likely remain there for at least another month as the case progresses.
The allegations against DJ Ribhe suggest that he drugged the minor before assaulting her. The troubling incident reportedly occurred on October 16, when the victim failed to return home after school. Concerned for her wellbeing, her father discovered that she had not attended school for a period of two days.
The following day, she was found at DJ Ribhe’s residence in the company of several unidentified individuals. They left for Mashwede Village around 10 PM.
According to the prosecution, DJ Ribhe allegedly coerced the young girl into consuming an unknown substance and smoking shisha. The victim regained consciousness at DJ Ribhe’s home the following day, realizing she had been raped. Her father, having initiated a search party after reported her missing, located her and she subsequently disclosed the details of the assault.
As investigations are ongoing, DJ Ribhe has not yet submitted a bail application to the High Court.
