A 21 year old woman Ruth Chikungwa from Chinhoyi, has been arrested, for stabbing her 34 year husband, identified as Moses Banda once on the chest with a kitchen knife.
The arrest was confirmed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).
In a statement, the ZRP Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said “Chikungwa was arrested in connection with a case of murder which occurred at a homestead in Musengi Farm, Chinhoyi in which her husband, Moses Banda died.”
Chikungwa stabbed the victim once on the chest with a kitchen knife misunderstanding over infidelity. The victim succumbed to injuries on arrival at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital.
In an unrelated incident , Police in Chirundu arrested Nicholas Chiriya who is 21 in connection with a case of murder which occurred along ZAFM Street, Chirundu in which Ashley Mutero also 21 died.
“Chiriya allegedly assaulted the victim with an empty Vodka beer bottle on the forehead and right arm following a misunderstanding over a missing cell phone,” notes the Police statement
The victim sustained deep cuts on the head and passed away on his way to Mutendere Mission Hospital, Zambia.
