Zimbabwe‘s netball national team, the Gems are set to face Lesotho and South Africa today at the Africa Netball Cup 2024.
Following their thrilling 50-49 victory against Uganda where the Zim Gems displayed an incredible performance, showing determination and tenacity to defeat Africa‘s second best.
They are now are set to crossroads with Lesotho at 1200hrs and South Africa later on the evening around 18.00hrs.
The Gems will be hoping to keep the momentum first against Lesotho before taking a bigger challenge with South Africa , Africa’s best who have been impressive in this competition as evidenced by their 74 -29 victory against Kenya.
Meanwhile, in the male category, the Gems are set to battle against Lesotho in their second match of this tournament, after suffering a 45-49 defeat against Eswatini. The team will be hoping to redeem themselves in this competition before it’s too late for them while Lesotho would be hoping to find back their winning after a humiliating 98-8 defeat against the South African males on their opening match.
As today’s games unfold, both Zimbabwean teams will be hoping for better results in their matches to keep their competition goals alive despite both of them facing strong teams. The female Gems have already beaten one of the best teams and will hope to keep the momentum.
