A youthful motorcyclist has fled after running over an eight -year-old Tanaka Muleya at the Shule Shule shopping centre on Saturday.
Tanaka, who has bruised legs and cannot stand on his own after the accident, was rushed to hospital by her grandmother Gamuchirai Marima.
Marima said after the accident the cyclist agreed to go to the police station to make a report after first passing through hospital.
He rode ahead of Marima who was driving but towards the hospital the cyclist entered through an alley and disappeared.
The cyclist was wearing a short and a t-shirt and is bruised after the accident.
