Harare — In a jaw-dropping reversal, rapper Holy Ten has publicly declared Winky D as Zimbabwe’s greatest musical talent just months after dismissing him in interviews and lyrics. The shocking admission came during a candid sit-down with ZTN, leaving fans divided and questioning the sincerity behind the sudden praise.
“The dream collaboration I truly desire is with Winky D. He operates in a league of his own,” Holy Ten said, brushing aside the fiery online feud that once had their fans at odds.
“All the previous controversy was amplified by social media it wasn’t as serious as people made it seem.”
But not everyone is buying the narrative. Many are calling the move “strategic” rather than genuine, especially since Holy Ten had previously mocked Winky D’s approach and legacy. Now, he’s describing him as “Zimbabwe’s gold” and admits to copying elements of Winky D’s career path.
“I consider him the best in every aspect vocals, style, everything. Naturally, I see myself as second best,” he said an admission some see as calculated humility amid waning public favor.
The interview also served as a platform for Holy Ten to do some personal cleanup. He issued a public apology to his wife, Kimberly, over online behavior that drew backlash, and claimed that his controversial online antics were merely part of a “comedic persona.”
“I regret how some interviews contributed to this narrative that I’m a bad person,” he stated.
“As an entertainer, my job is to entertain not to nurse people’s feelings.”
Critics argue the apology and toned-down image are all part of a PR rebrand, especially after recent management shakeups and growing public fatigue with his social media outbursts.
He also vowed to scale back his online presence, claiming he’s now focused on “intentional public appearances” and a deeper connection with fans.
Still, questions linger: Is Holy Ten genuinely evolving, or is this a calculated image shift to regain public favor?
Only time and perhaps that long-promised Winky D collaboration will tell.
