A 16 year old boy from Binga has been arraigned before the Binga Magistrates court facing rape and murder charges.He allegedly raped and murdered his 17 year old cousin.
The state alleges on the 26th of February 2024, the accused person raped the now deceased.When she threatened to report him to her mother , he struck her once on the neck with an axe before carrying her body out of the yard where he dismembered the corpse.
He chopped off the head and the left leg using the axe before cutting a piece of flesh from her buttocks and right thigh using a knife. He dumped the head and leg about 10 metres from the body and threw the deceased flesh in the field. The accused washed the knife before leaving it on the veranda. He was arrested whilst fleeing at Chizarira National Park. The state has made an application for the teenager to be examined by two doctors. Matter is due back in court on the 14th of March, that is according to the National Prosecuting Authority.
