Popular musician Chillmaster has confirmed his involvement in a tragic road accident that resulted in the loss of a life in the Hopely suburb of Harare.
In an emotional Facebook post shared on Wednesday, April 9, the artist revealed that he accidentally ran over a pedestrian while driving.
“It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that I address you today. Earlier today, I was involved in a devastating car accident that resulted in the loss of a precious life. Words cannot express the depth of my grief, remorse, and sympathy for the individual who passed away, their family, and loved ones,” Chillmaster wrote.
The Horror hit maker announced that he is cooperating with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) as investigations into the incident continue. He expressed his commitment to supporting the grieving family during this difficult time.
“I am fully cooperating with authorities on this tragedy, and I will continue to do so transparently. Right now, my focus is on respecting the privacy of the grieving family and supporting them in any way possible,” he stated.
Chillmaster took full responsibility for the accident, making it clear that there was no excuse for his actions. He apologized to his supporters and the victim’s family, acknowledging that forgiveness may not be forthcoming.
“There is no justification for the pain this has caused. I take full responsibility for my actions and will carry the weight of this loss with me for the rest of my life. I ask for forgiveness, though I understand it may never come,” he said.
He concluded his post by requesting that the public respect both his and the affected family’s privacy as they navigate the aftermath of this tragic event and announced that he would not be responding to comments related to the matter.
