The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is actively investigating a daring robbery incident that took place in Dulibadzimu, Beitbridge, on Friday, where a 34-year-old man was reportedly robbed of US$71,120 in company funds.
The money was intended for delivery to the company’s agent in Harare.
According to police reports, the victim was ambushed by an unidentified assailant who was armed with a pistol.
“The complainant was attacked by an unidentified suspect who was armed with a pistol,” said the Zimbabwean Republic Police.
During the encounter, the suspect fired a single shot to intimidate the victim into compliance. Fearing for his life, the complainant handed over a bag containing the substantial sum of cash.
No injuries were reported during the robbery, but the shock of the event has left the community in fear.
