Transport Minister Honorable Felix Tapiwa Mhona has announced that the rehabilitation of the Kadoma-Sanyati-Nembudziya road is on track to be completed before the 45th Independence Day celebrations, scheduled for April 18 in Gokwe.

During a post-Cabinet briefing in Harare yesterday, Minister Mhona emphasized the government’s commitment to infrastructure development under the leadership of His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“There is no one and no place that is going to be left behind,” he stated.

The project, which began last year, involves the upgrading and rehabilitation of a crucial 20-kilometer stretch of road.

“The contractors are already working diligently, and we will ensure that it is completed before the Independence Day celebrations,” Mhona assured.

Meanwhile, skepticism arises as some critics question whether the push to finish the road is genuinely aimed at enhancing long-term infrastructure or simply a strategy to showcase progress ahead of the national celebrations.

With no other reasons provided for the expedited timeline, concerns are growing that this initiative may prioritize political optics over the genuine needs of the community.
