VHEMBE Stars Academy have secured the signature of former Dulibadzimu United prodigy Patrick Kelly Muleya.
Vhembe Stars Academy Secretary General Foster Abekie confirmed the signing of the 27-year-old, who was previously with Calendar Stars FC in the Botswana Premier Soccer League.
“I can confirm the arrival of Patrick Kelly Muleya, who was playing in Botswana. He is now a Vhembe Stars Academy player,” Abekie said.
Muleya is a versatile player who can operate in several positions, including central midfield and defence.
He is famously known for his beautiful free-kick style and his unique ball distribution.
Muleya was to be unveiled on Thursday at Ziyah Media Studios.
Muleya began his career in 2016 while still at Tongwe High School.
He joined CM 15 Academy before moving to Dulibadzimu United and later Black Lions FC, who loaned him to Calendar Stars FC.
Following his successful signing with Vhembe Stars Academy, Muleya expressed gratitude and appreciation.
“I am very glad to come home and I hope to make an impact in my town and for my home team,” Muleya said.
Muleya will wear jersey number 54 after his usual number 66 was already taken by teammate Benedict Sithole.
