A loafer from Lesanth Village 3 allegedly stabbed his 87-year grandfather seven times killing him on the spot during an argument over R20.

In another incident a 22 year old woman bludgeoned her father in law in Dite allegedly for denying her quality time with her South African based husband the father took to beer
parties.

In a third murder Beitbridge Rural Police are holding a man who allegedly struck his 97-year-old mother several times with a mattock killing her.

Honest Chauke, 38, from HaTom in Village 3, who literally does nothing in life but nag his grandparents who look after him, wanted the R20 to buy cigarettes.

On the day in question he allegedly asked for R20 from his grandfather Musino John Chauke who said he did not have any.

But his grandmother he previously assaulted for not having money heard the conversation and sensed trouble.

She went into the house to look for R20 and Honest followed her.

The grandfather Chauke also followed knowing the previous assault on his wife by Honest who was released on parole.

Old Chauke asked his grandson not to harass his beloved wife and it was the last request he made on earth.

From nowhere his grandson Honest drew a screw driver and stabbed his grandfather seven times killing him.

Yesterday, sitting relaxed but handcuffed, Honest said indeed he killed his grandad for R20.

He was being taken to the crime scene for indications.

In 2018 Honest struck his maternal grandmother and was convicted.

He said he has never been to school and he knew what he was doing, in a cold admission of his heinous act.

But before the law he is innocent until he is convicted in a full trial. Murder does not have automatic admission.

As regards the Dite woman identified as Faith Dube, she was insensed after her husband arrived from South Africa only to spend more time with his father.

She allegedly took a log from the fire and struck her father in law who died on the spot.

“She accused her stepffather of denying her quality time with her husband taking him to beer drinks.”

Se has since been arrested and is helping police with investigations.

At Tongwe South African based Lazarus Moyo attacked his mother Sarah Muleya accusing her of bewitching him.

He has also been arrested.

The officer commanding Beitbridge police district Chief Superintendent Mesuli Ncube confirmed the arrests.
