Harare — The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has announced that six local match officials have been selected by COSAFA to officiate at the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) COSAFA Qualifiers 2025, set to take place in Harare from 11 to 20 September.
The appointed referees are:
- Thanks Nyahuye
- Lawrence Zimondi
- Dominica Melusi
- Brighton Chimene
- Ruzive Ruzive
- Morris Banda
The officials will report for duty on 5 September, joining the COSAFA delegation ahead of the regional youth tournament.
In a statement, ZIFA congratulated the match officials, saying their appointments were a testament to their professionalism, dedication, and the steady rise of refereeing standards in Zimbabwe.
“We wish them all the best as they carry our nation’s flag with pride and excellence,” ZIFA said.
The tournament, which will showcase Southern Africa’s brightest U-17 football talent, will also serve as a qualifier for the continental AFCON U-17 finals.
