A Beitbridge man has appeared in court to answer two counts of allegedly raping a minor aged 15
Collen Dube appeared before Regional Magistrate Charity Maphosa on Monday on an initial court appearance.
Dube who resides at Limpopo 1, was formally advised of the charges and indicated that he understood them.
Dube instantly admitted to the allegations, telling the court that he had agreed with the minor to have sexual intercourse.
“I understood the charges and I admit to the charges, we had agreed”. said Dube
Dube asked to apply for bail but was advised to approach the High Court.
According to Prosecutor Mercy Nyathi, the complainant was allegedly raped on two occasions, first in November 2025 when she was 14 years old, and again in March 2026 were she is now 15.
Dube was remanded in custody to May 11, 2026, for bail proceedings and the commencement of trial.
