A Beitbridge man, Godfrey Marara, has approached the court seeking to recover US$5,000 he allegedly gave to Thomas Mangere in a failed vehicle-related arrangement.
Marara appeared before Magistrate Mbonisi Kaweni, this week Monday.
Marara told the court that he handed over the money to Mangere with the understanding that it would be used to clear his Toyota Hilux.
However, Marara said the agreement was not fulfilled, prompting him to pursue legal action to recover the funds.
In initial proceedings, the court instructed Mangere to formally file his papers and ensure that Marara is served with the necessary legal papers for response.
Kaweni postponed the matter to May 8, 2026 for hearing, when both parties are expected to appear before the court to present their arguments.
