A 34 year old manfrom Chidewu Village has been convicted and sentenced for culpable homicide and driving without a license.
The incident occurred when the accused Victor Nyaunga who was driving a Toyota Hiace, allowed a young person to hang onto the driver’s door. The vehicle overturned, resulting in fatal head injuries to the victim.
Nyaunga was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment for culpable homicide, with 6 months suspended for good behavior and 10 months suspended upon completion of 350 hours of community service.
He also received a 4-month suspended sentence for driving without a license.
