ZIMBABWE men’s national soccer side head coach Marian Marinica has announced his final squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The continental showpiece will take place from 21 December to 18 January.

Washington Arubi headlines the list, bringing leadership and composure between the sticks.

He is joined by Elvis Chipezeze and Martin Mapisa, both reliable options who add depth to the goalkeeping department.

The backline boast versatility and strength. Devine Lunga, Teenage Hadebe, Godknows Murwira, Emmanuel Jalai, Sean Fusire, Munashe Garananga, Gerald Takwara , Ishe Mauchi, Brendon Galloway and , Alec Mudimu to provide a complete defensive unit that promises resilience.

The Warrior’s engine room will have many options as Marvellous Nakamba, Jonah Fabisch, Prosper Padera, Tawanda Chirewa and Walter Musona will be part of the team.

Up front, Marinica opted for Bill Antonio, Ishmael Wadi, Maswanhise, Msendami, Prince Dube, Navaya Washington, Macauley Bonne, Junior Zidonga and Tadiwanashe Chakuchichi.

Marinica’s AFCON 2025 squad seems to be a well-balanced group with a mix of different calibres, most importantly with many players who regularly get game time at their respective clubs..

One big surprise omission from the final squad was Walter Musona, who played a big part in the AFCON qualification for Zimbabwe.

Wolverhampton and Warriors captain Marshall Munetsi is not included either, as he is reported to be injured.

With the tournament set to kick off in December, all eyes will be on whether this squad can make history and secure a knockout stage spot.
