BEITBRIDGE musician Regis Mandangu popularly known as Mark Geezo is gaining national and regional attention as he helps raise the profile of the town’s music scene after years of limited representation.
Mark Geezo, popularly known for his song “Magunvosta,” which featured Qounfuzed (McDonald Sheldon), a Zimbabwe-born artist primarily based in the United Kingdom, is currently trending again with his new production, “Zi Calendar,” which features Wispy Msalad.
His growing catalogue has contributed to increased recognition for Beitbridge’s emerging music movement.
His efforts have also brought industry recognition in town.
Geezo has won two TESMA awards and earned a nomination at the NAMUSICA Africa Awards in the Best Afrobeats Song category.
Beyond recordings, the artist has been performing across the region, with appearances in Musina and Johannesburg.
He is also scheduled to perform in Polokwane in May.
Geezo’s rise is reflected on social media, where his Facebook following has grown from 4,000 to 22 000, and 25 200 TikTok followers.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Mark Geezo said his progress is the result of persistence, hard work, and faith.
“God’s time is the greatest. I waited for such good days to come.come to think about it, we have come a long way for people to believe in the brand,” he said.
He also said that consistency remains key to success in the industry.
“Patience and hard work pay, that’s what makes music excel,” he said.
