The Minister of Health and Child Care, Honourable Dr. Douglas Mombeshora, together with the Permanent Secretary for Health, Dr. Aspect Maunganidze, yesterday visited Chifubu Level 1 Hospital in Zambia as part of a fact-finding mission aimed at strengthening Zimbabwe’s health delivery system.
The tour provided valuable insights into Zambia’s healthcare model, with a focus on patient-centered care and hospital management practices. According to the Ministry, the exchange of knowledge is expected to inform Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to modernise healthcare facilities and improve service delivery nationwide.
The visit comes at a time when significant infrastructural and equipment upgrades are underway at key institutions, including Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals (PGH), Mpilo Hospital, and United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH). The Ministry says these developments are part of a broader initiative to enhance access to quality healthcare across the country.
“The fact-finding mission underscores our commitment to learning from regional best practices while continuing to build a resilient and modern healthcare system for Zimbabwe,” read the Ministry’s statement.
