Morocco is set to host the Women’s CAF Champions League in 2024, as confirmed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The prestigious tournament will take place in November, commencing on the 9th.
Having successfully hosted the 2022 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Morocco is preparing to welcome teams and fans once again for this highly anticipated competition.
According to CAF media, eight teams will participate in the Women’s Champions League, including the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, ASFAR from Morocco, Aigles de la Medina from Senegal, EDO Queens from Nigeria, the University of the Western Cape from South Africa, Tutankhamun from Egypt, CBE FC from Ethiopia, and TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The champions will receive $400,000, while the runners-up will take home $250,000.
Mamelodi Sundowns have claimed the title twice in the past three years of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
With standout players like Lesotho international Boitumelo Rabale, they have established themselves as a dominant force in the tournament.
