BEITBRIDGE West Member of Parliament Thusani Masiṱa Ndou donated a Starlink unit, football and netball game balls and sets of girls’ and boys’ football uniforms to Jalukange Primary School on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
In an interview with Ziyah News Network, Ndou said the donation is meant to improve connectivity and help learners with research. He said the football kits and game balls would support both the boys’ and girls’ teams during their sporting seasons.
“I donated the Starlink to improve service and learning areas for the school and the children. The ball games and kits that I also donated will be important for their sporting activities. Overall, this is an initiative which aims to improve schools in Beitbridge West in both classroom and extra-curricular activities,” Ndou said.
Jalukange is one of the schools located far west near the Tuli River bank. It is geographically and digitally isolated.
For decades, there are no local networks in the area, however most of the networks used are Orange from Botswana and South Africa’s MTN and Vodacom.
The Starlink donation will not only help the school but also the community, as they can now access the internet and relay information faster as both a community and a school.
Ndou also said Jalukange Primary and the community will also benefit from the ongoing NetOne network booster project which is currently under construction in Shashe.
“The booster initiative also aims to change that, offering a reliable local alternative and strengthening communication within the community,” he said.
The donation comes just a few months after Ndou assisted Jalukange Primary with a solarised borehole to improve access to water at the school. The borehole has helped teachers and learners grow vegetables in the school garden and support other key activities.
Jalukange Primary School joins Malala Secondary School, Msane Primary School, Vhembe High, Swereki Secondary School, Zhopembe Primary School, and Jopembe Primary School, which have also benefited from solarised borehole projects and Starlink donations.
