THE journey to regional glory in the CAF U17 Girls’ Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) 2025 continues to intensify, with Mpopoma Sports Academy set to take on Luwinga on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 15:00 hours.
Following their impressive 12–0 victory over Namibia’s Otjiwarongo in their opening match, the Zimbabwean representatives, Mpopoma Sports Academy, will be aiming to deliver another thrilling performance against Luwinga to top Group A and secure a spot in the knockout stage.
The clash between Mpopoma Sports Academy and Luwinga FC is expected to be challenging, with Luwinga coming into the fixture seeking redemption after their 3–1 loss to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Academy.
However, backed by the home crowd, Mpopoma Sports Academy will also be vying for maximum points and hoping to maintain their impressive start.
In another Group A encounter, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns Academy will face Otjiwarongo FC at 12:00 hours.
After their 3–1 victory over Luwinga in the opening match, Mamelodi Sundowns Academy will be pushing for a strong win to close the goal-difference gap between themselves and Zimbabwe’s Mpopoma Sports Academy.
Meanwhile, Otjiwarongo will be looking to secure their first victory of the tournament.
Elsewhere, Aguila Stars FC moved to the top of Group B after a decisive 5–0 win over Okakarara Golden Ladies, while Lishoeshoe delivered a masterclass performance, defeating South Africa’s Refilwe FC on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
