The much anticipated fourth edition of the Nedbank Rugby Challenge Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, 29 March 2025 at Harare sports Club.
The development around the tournament was proudly confirmed by the Zimbabwe Rugby Union.. The rugby association also highlighted that this year ‘s tournament promises to be bigger, bolder and inclusive than ever before with women’s rugby, youth development and club excellence part of the package of the tournament.
“Zimbabwe Rugby Union is proud to announce the return of the highly anticipated Nedbank Zimbabwe Rugby Challenge Cup, now in its 4th edition. In a landmark move underscoring the growth of the women’s game, both the Zimbabwe Sables Women’s and the Junior Sables U20 Women’s teams will feature prominently across both weekends. Lady Sables will using the Nedbank Challenge Cup as the final preparatory event leading to their voyage to Ivory Coast for the Rugby Africa Division One quest in April… ,” Zimbabwe Rugby Union stated.
The Nedbank Rugby tournament plays a crucial role in grooming the national talents, for example young players such as Dion Khumalo and Takudzwa Msiningwini have risen from the U20s to become African champions as juniors and seniors.
Harare Sports Club are the defending champions .
