Bester Dziwema, a 37 year old man from Nyanga has been convicted of theft and sentenced to 14 months in prison. Dziwema was found guilty of stealing a black Lifan motorcycle worth $900 and an Itel A58 cell phone valued at $45. He was Convicted and sentenced by Nyanga Magistrate Court.

 The State proved that sometime in the month of August 2024, Dziwema and his accomplice who is still at large went to the complainant’s place of residence and stole a black Lifan motorcycle which was parked in the yard and went away unnoticed.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPAZ), reports that the detectives arrested Dziwema who then led them to Rusape where he had left the motor cycle to be sold by his accomplice but they did not find him and the motor cycle.

The value of the stolen property was USD 900 and nothing was recovered.

Dziwema on the month of September went to another homestead and stole an Itel A58 cell phone which was left on a motorcycle and connected to the charger and went away unnoticed.

The matter came to light when the complainant received information to the effect that Dziwema’s wife was using his missing cell phone.

Members of CID Inyanga reacted to the information and arrested  Dziwema and the cell phone was recovered from his wife. The value of the stolen property was USD45 and all was recovered.
