The Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK Party)  has removed Floyd Shivambu as Secretary General for an unauthorized trip to Malawi conflicting with party policy, reassigning him to their parliamentary caucus.

The former EFF strongman has been accused of visiting fugitive televangelist Shepherd Bush iri.

According to the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, which is led by President Jacob Zuma, “The party  found that Secretary General Floyd Shivambu violated the party constitution (specifically Section 3(j) on “Offences”). His trip to Malawi was deemed unsanctioned and against the party’s agenda, especially given Malawi’s recent extradition ruling related to the Bushiris who skipped bail in South Africa. “

As a result, the MK Party National Officials decided to redeploy Floyd Shivambu from his position as Secretary General.

The MK said Shivambu will be redeployed to serve the MK Party in the National Assembly (as part of its parliamentary caucus). The party acknowledged his past contributions and stated he accepted this redeployment.
