SOUTH Africa’s men’s netball team secured a 40-29 victory against Zimbabwe’s Golden Flyers at the final of the Africa Netball Cup 2025 on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Following their 2024 triumph, South Africa defended their title as the undisputed kings of African Netball after defeating Zimbabwe’s Golden Flyers.
On the female side, South Africa also defended their title by defeating Uganda in the final to secure the championship.
South Africa’s Spar Proteas achieved their goal of winning the tournament for a record fifth time.
Meanwhile, despite Zimbabwe’s men’s loss in the final and the women’s third place finish, it won the double player of the tournament in the Africa Netball championship.
Golden Flyers ‘s Prince Ncube secured player of the tournament for the men ‘s side and the Gems ‘ Thandazile Ndlovu won it for the ladies side.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Netball Association congratulated the Golden Flyers for their silver medal, and both teams, Gems and Golden Flyers on their double player of the tournament accolades.

In 2023, the Golden Flyers lost to South Africa at the Africa Netball Cup, which was held in Gaborone, Botswana, and this shows the dominant performance South Africa’s men have over the Golden Flyers
