There are 6 days left for the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations tournament kick off in Morocco.

South Africa goes head-to-head with Ghana today, December 16, 2025, in an international friendly, as part of their preparation for the tournament.

Following their last match against Zambia, all eyes are on Bafana Bafana as they test their readiness for the tournament when they face the four-time champions, Ghana’s Black Stars, in the final friendly before Morocco.

For Bafana Bafana, it is a key moment to prepare and strengthen themselves before facing Africa’s powerhouse Egypt, Angola, and fellow rival Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Ghana is trying to rebuild their squad after missing out on the 35th edition of the tournament.

Egypt are facing the Super Eagles of Nigeria today. Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will lead the Pharaohs in search of his first AFCON title in his career.

The Pharaohs’ squad also features Manchester City winger Omar Marmoush, Al Ahly regulars Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim and Emam Ashour, as well as Mahmoud Trezeguet

Angola has already played several international friendlies in preparation for the tournament. For example, on November 14, 2025, they battled the current World Champions, Argentina, where they lost 2-0.

Zimbabwe’s Warriors went on to play against the 2019 AFCON champions, Algeria, and Qatar as part of their preparation before heading to the Atlas Lions’ territory.
