Former Warriors and Chicken inn midfielder Tafadzwa Kutinyu has retired from professional football after a prolonged battle against a persistent nose injury.
The 29 year old suffered a nose injury during 2021/22 season that required two surgeries. Additionally he has been reported to have played few games in the 2024 mid-season but the nagging nose’s pain kept striking until he decided to retire from football.
Kutinyu made his professional football debut during 2013/2014 season at the age of 19 for the Botswana side Notwane before joining Bantu Rovers, Chicken inn, Singida United and Azama in Tanazania, and Horoya. He has now decided to hang his boots and end his professional football career.
Notably hwas amongst the players that helped Zimbabwe to secure the 2018 COSAFA Cup in South Africa , his first ever major trophy. Kutinyu hangs his boots having been capped 14 times by the Warriors.
Meanwhile, the ex-Warriors midfielder will be embarking on a new journey as a performance analyst in his Tanzanian former side Singida United. Kutinyu is also reported to have also ventured into horticulture, cattle rearing and poultry farming.
