Thapelo Molomo, the winner of Idols SA Season 18, has officially resigned from his position as a warrant officer in the South African Police Service (SAPS) to fully dedicate himself to his music career.
After juggling both careers for an extended period, Molomo found the demands of being a musician increasingly difficult to manage alongside his law enforcement duties.
Prior to his resignation, Molomo was stationed at Brits in the Northwest and also holds a psychology degree from the University of Venda.
Reflecting on his time with SAPS, he conveyed deep appreciation for the support he received during his tenure.
“The police service has been a family to me, very supportive. They indicated they will continue to support me,” he shared.
With his focus now solely on music, Molomo has secured an exciting opportunity to perform on a cruise ship, where he also takes on the role of production manager.
While he embraces the rewarding nature of this new venture, he acknowledges that one of the toughest challenges is being away from his loved ones.
