 Beitbridge’s Tongwe High School suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Hwange High school in the Orap Isuzu tournament final at Gifford, Bulawayo.

Following successive 1-0 and  2-0 victories against Chaplin High, Tongwe High School came out on top of the group to book a semi-final spot, where they defeated Sonvubu 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 stalemate in regular time.

Tongwe high school were punished by an early goal  by Hwange as they lost the Orap Isuzu title.

Despite losing in the final, Emmanuel Ramakgapola, Tongwe ‘s sports master  feels his side displayed a wonderful performance, unfortunately Hwange was just too good.

“It was an exciting trip for the learners, the majority of our learners were visiting Bulawayo ofor the first time.We faced some of the toughest oppositions in the southern region the boys did their best but unfortunately lost in the final to Hwange High school,” Ramakgapola stated.

Meanwhile, Tongwe will now shift its focus to building up and preparing for the upcoming U20 Matabeleland South provincial competitions.
