A violent altercation at a party in Madaulo, Chief Matibe, has led to the arrest and charging of two Beitbridge men, Walter Mbedzi (20) and Bildard Sibanda (26), with attempted murder.
The case was remanded to the 10th of April, 2025, as the complainant remains hospitalized.
According to the reports, the incident took place during a celebration. A dispute broke out after the first accused person allegedly assaulted Edwin Moyo, the younger brother of the complainant, William Moyo (33).
The situation escalated into a fistfight involving other youths at the party. During the chaos, Mbedzi allegedly stabbed the complainant in the chest, while the second accused person reportedly stabbed him on the right arm.
The complainant sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Beitbridge District Hospital, where he was initially treated and discharged. However, he was readmitted the following day due to complications.
The case highlights the dangers of escalating violence at social gatherings.
The NPAZ is urging the public to resolve disputes peacefully and avoid carrying weapons to public events.
