Two people were killed and four others were injured in a road accident involving two vehicles Toyota Hilux and Honda fit at the 156-kilometre peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda Road.
Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the accident on their social media account.
“Two people were killed while four others were injured when a Toyota Hilux vehicle with one passenger on board side swiped with a Honda Fit vehicle carrying five passengers,” said Police Spokesperson Commisioner Paul Nyathi.
As a result of the accident, the Toyota Hilux vehicle overturned and landed on its side while the Honda Fit vehicle overturned and landed on its wheels. The impact caused by both vehicles to overturn, leading to the tragic fatalities.
The festive season has accidents as a common feature with the number of crashes increasing as most people travel to spend their holiday in various places. However it is sad that most accidents witnessed have human errors, meaning it can be avoided.
