The Beitbridge Central Region Soccer League Division One returns this weekend with pressure mounting on Vhembe Stars Academy and Dulibadzimu United as both sides look to improve their early season form.

Vhembe Stars Academy sit at the bottom of the table in 16th place with just two points from five matches, having recorded no wins, two draws and two defeats. They face a tough away trip to GoodMorning FC at Kotamai Stadium on Saturday, where they will be desperate to turn performances into results.

Despite the slow start, Vhembe coach Blessing Madombi remains calm about his team’s position. Speaking ahead of the match, he said the focus is not on the log standings but on improving efficiency in front of goal. He admitted that while the team has shown dominance in matches, converting chances remains a major concern. Madombi said with confidence that his side will bounce back.

Meanwhile, Dulibadzimu United are slightly better off, sitting on four points from four games after one win, one draw and two losses. They will host MSU at Dulibadzimu Stadium on Saturday, hoping to use home advantage to climb further up the table.

Midfielder Munashe Chirara is confident about their chances, saying the season is still long and the team is determined to improve results and push towards the top positions.

Other fixtures scheduled for Saturday include Matopo taking on Blanket Mine, FC Platinum U19 facing Gwanda Pirates, Tongogara FC meeting Super Strikers, and Shurugwi FC playing against Grain Tigers.

On Sunday, Sabi Gold Mine FC will host Kwekwe United, West Nicholson faces Gwanda Pirates, while Chapungu clashes with Shabani Mine in what promises to be another competitive round of fixtures.
