Vhembe Stars Academy secured back to back victory following a 3-2 victory against Super Strikers FC in the Matebeleland South Division 2 Pool A at Dulibadzimu Stadium.
Following their 2-0 victory against SuperSport FC away from home, The Beitbridge outfit gave it their all in a hard fought battle against Super Strikers, emerging victorious.
Themba Bajila broke the deadlock with a header,from a corner kick by Brian Ndlovu in the 12th minute, before Super Strikers ‘ Proceed Gumbo scored an equalizer from the penalty spot.
Last Ngirazi made a brilliant assist to set up, Themba Bajila who gave Vhembe Stars Academy the lead in the 73rd minute with a beautiful header. Tawananyasha Mukunga then came into play to score the third, while Super Strikers ‘ Believe Moyo scored the second goal for Super Strikers to make it 3-2.
Vhembe Stars Academy’s Coach Paul Mugabiri highlighted that his team has improved and he looks to maintain their winning rhythm.
“The team is gathering, it’s winning momentum and I hope they continue to set the standards high to secure maximum points, he said.
