Wellton Group of Schools is set to host Falcon College this Saturday, January 15, in their first cricket games of the year.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Wellton Sports Director Mr. S. Malunga said the fixtures mark an important start to the season for the school teams.
“We are having our first fixture for the team against Falcon College,” said Malunga.
“The games will involve our Under-15 and Under-16 boys’ teams,” he said
According to Mr. Malunga, the Under-15 boys will play at Wellton Primary School, while the Under-16 boys will compete at the Wellton College grounds.
“The Under-15 boys will be playing at Wellton Primary, and the Under-16 boys will be playing at the Wellton College grounds,” he explained.
The day will also feature a girls’ match, with the Wellton Primary girls’ team facing Falcon College Under-14 girls.
Malunga said the school’s strong commitment to developing learners both academically and through sport.
“As a school, we are dedicated to both academic and sports development because sport plays a vital role in building discipline and teamwork among our learners,” he said.
He encouraged parents and the community to attend and support the young athletes.
“We invite parents to come through and support their children,” Malunga said
