Juliet Munetsi, a 43-year-old resident of Njube, Bulawayo, faces serious charges following her arrest for unlawful possession of Broncleer and Dagga.
The arrest occurred after law enforcement agents intercepted a bus at the Beitbridge Border Post, which was suspected of transporting illegal drugs.
Upon searching, two suitcases belonging to the accused, authorities discovered 6kg of Dagga with a street value of ZIG180,000, (80X100ml) bottles of Broncleer cough syrup with codeine worth ZIG5700.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), states that no one initially claimed the luggage at the border and a controlled delivery was carried out to Bulawayo where the suspect later claimed the bags, leading to her immediate arrest. Accused failed to produce any permit or licence to possess the drugs.
The accused appeared at Bulawayo Regional Court and the case was remanded for a bail hearing.
