Beitbridge ‘s Zezani High School is celebrating one of its own, Derrick Matutu who has secured a bronze medal in the 4×400m mixed relay for the Zimbabwe national team at CAA Africa U18/20 Athletics Championship in Nigeria.

The 4×400 meters team that won the bronze medal at the continental championships included Derrick Matutu ,Anesu Nyahuma,Nataly Shoko and Nenyasha Chihona.

Zezani high school has commended Matutu for his dedication and hard work alongside his teammates.

“We are proud to share that our learner Derrick Matutu has clinched a bronze medal at the CAA African U18/U20 Athletics Championships in Nigeria!He was part of the Mixed 4x400m Relay Team, alongside Natalie, Nenyasha and Anesu – a powerful squad that made Zimbabwe proud on the continental stage.

This is a remarkable milestone for Derick and a proud moment for our school and the nation. Congratulations, champion!,” Zezani high school stated.

It’s been a remarkable year for the Zezani High School in sporting terms  with Derick Matutu coming back with a continental medal just a few weeks after the Zezani High School U17 Boys were crowned Zimbabwe National U17 champions.
