Tongwe High School has been crowned the 2025 NASH Matebeleland South Champions after a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout victory against Mzingwane Boys High, securing back-to-back national appearances representing the Rainbow province.

Following a 0-0 stalemate in regular time, Tongwe high school held their nerve to break Mzingwane ‘s hope and be crowned the provincial champions.

After winning the provincial final , head of sport ,Emmanuel Ramakgapola was full of praise for the team saying, “The boys did played very well from the group stages until securing the championship, .we appreciate the coaches‘ determination and effort alongside the players for their tirelessness efforts”.

Rivals Zezani High School also congratulated Tongwe high for winning the championship.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the 2025 Beitbridge champions ,Tongwe High School for emerging as the Mat South Provincial champions. We are proud of you and wish you all the best as you head to the national competitions .Lets bring another national trophy home,” stated the Beitbridge school.

On their journey to the final, the Beitbridge side drew 0-0 against Filabusi before securing a 2-0 victory against Hlanganani to reach the semifinal, where they effortlessly defeated Dombodema 3-1 to set up a final against Mzingwane Boys High.
